Full-Text Databases
If
you are not sure if your journals are full-text, or which
full-text databases contain your journals, please read:

The
following databases are among those heavily used:
A premier online database. Provides full-text access to
documents of News, Business, Legal
Research, Medical, and Reference.
Requires Internet Explorer, or Netscape 7.0 for best effect.
Provides a variety of journals covering business, social
sciences, humanities, natural science, and education. Includes
full-page images as well as color embedded images.
An archive of thousands of electronic publications, it offers
full-text access to leading newspapers, including the Wall
Street Journal, as well as scholarly periodicals, magazines,
trade journals, and newswires.
To
search for a particular publication, click on Source to
expand the Source List. To search for a particular article
or topic, enter terms in the Free Text box (and select the
Source from the Source List if known).
Initiated by Stanford University Libraries' HighWire Press
in 1995, it now archives hundreds of web sites with full-text
journal articles and technical reports.
Hein
Online
An image-based archive of legal research materials. Full-text
law journals only.
JSTOR
An full-text archive of over 100 scholarly journals in the
fields of anthropology, ecology, economics, history, mathematics,
philosophy, political sciences, population studies, sociology,
and general science.
It
has 2 to 5 years gap between the most recently published
issues in reality and the date of the most recent issues
available in JSTOR. Generally, you cannot find articles
published this year or up to 5 years of the past in JSTOR.
Only a few journals offer issues up to date.
OmniFile
(Wilson) (or Wilson
Omni)
A comprehensive, multidisciplinary database. Its OmniFile
Full Text Mega covers the fields and topics of business,
education, science, humanities, social sciences, and general
from 1982 to present. Some indexed journals offer full-text
access.
Project
Muse
It offers nearly 200 journals in a variety of fields such
as literature and criticism, history, visual and performing
arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender
studies, and economics.
Most
journal titles allow full-text access to issues in recent
years. Some journals have full-text back to 1993.
ProQuest
It is organized into collections of related newspapers,
magazines, and academic journals. Provides full text access
to most journals indexed. In addition to Current
and Backfile, it offers Deep Backfile
which covers back to 1970 and even earlier for some periodical
titles.
To
search a particular article, select Search Methods,
then Guided Search. To search a particular journal,
use Publication on the drop down menu, and then
type in the right publication name.
